01 CON ● ACTION ● SIX OF DIAMONDS

( Ever since Adalinda arrived here, she's mostly staying out of sight and keeping to herself -- keeping away from people. If anyone attempted to talk to her up to this point or noticed her hovering close to them while they spoke to someone, she'll feign needing to be somewhere else and get the hell out of there before she can be confronted.

Until she gets her bearings and knows she won't lose her cool at the sight of anything/anyone/whatever, she needs to be by herself and think over the events that lead up to this. Because seriously! Wings on her back? This fancy journal machine... thing that seems to be able to contact others after she carefully inspected it? This sure as hell isn't Germany.

She finally comes to the conclusion that this isn't some sort of elaborate scheme hatched out by the Woman or this is some sort of dying dream she's having. Good for her? Bad for her? Who knows. All she's certain of is that there's a lot of places to explore but sticks to the buildings and houses and you know. Signs of life in this place. Seeing how she's possibly the only member in the Doe gang to be here, she can't afford risking the possibility of getting in trouble until her friends arrived to get her. One way or another. )

I suppose I have to make the most out of this until James or Josie get me out of this mess. Hell, I'll take up Jacob's help if it means getting nagged by him. First things first...

( She gives a distasteful look at her new outfit. One thing she cannot abide is being stuck with the clothes she finds herself wearing and careful inspection of the place she woke up this morning reveals no signs of her original outfit.

So rain or not she'll be heading to the Clothing Shop to find something nicer to wear and then check out the Welcome Center after hearing about it here and there. For now she'll duck into buildings or go closer to houses in a subtle attempt to inspect them, scout them out. She's no Point Person but she reckons she can pick up a thing or two from what she may 'accidentally' see or 'overhear'.

That and the rain was annoying to deal with how it made her hair get so matted and tangled and she wanted as much shelter from the weather as possible until she got to her destinations. She has a feeling this place doesn't have her brand of hair products. Great. )

Well, looks like you've got a little sass, now don't you? Be careful, your mouth might be your end. [He recognizes her little defense of Spencer. It's not that he doesn't like her specifically, he just doesn't like anyone mostly. He doesn't know Jack so he's got nothing to say there.]

[Cliff or Saori would probably help her, or Tenten possibly, but he's not going to volunteer them to Addie to take her problems to them.] If I'm turned down it's because they know better than to fight the Prince of Saiyans. When you fight me you're only asking for an early grave. Anyway, even if I did know anyone who would be willing to teach I wouldn't just outright give you their names.

( She sees it coming her way for sure! Here comes the flashbacks to those ill-advised games of catch with Josie. Is she any better in this compared to before? She reaches out to grab the glass jar, takes a few steps back when she estimates.

Caaaatches-- No don't slip out of her fingers!!

She hops a bit, secures it in her grip. Score! Nearly stumbles on her own two feet when she gets back down and attempts to steady herself. She gives Pascal a look of bemusement. Which turns into amusement and she ends up laughing happily as she adds the nutmeg to the mugs. That was pretty unexpected but rather fun! )

Nice throw there! Perhaps I'll toss you your drink all of the sudden when these are made? ( To think this all started because Pascal was willing enough to stick her head out and talk to a passing stranger. )

( She follows him, looking behind her one last time to make sure no one else was here in the store with them. It would be a drag for this encounter to end before anything really happened. )

What a gentleman you are to help me. Don't feel afraid of being a little rough with me when helping me out of this. ( A flash of a teasing grin, a wink. ) I always did appreciate a hands on type of man.

( Why woudln't she follow him to the item shop is the question here.

When they step out of the grocery, Addie does let up a little bit. Gives some space between them. Switches out from cursing to bawdy songs that only the French can know so well. But she still trails behind him, like a duckling following her mother that will not. Leave them. Be. )

The makers of the fries must be sassy, monsieur. What are we without our wit. ( She takes the 'advice' well as someone with her temperament and ego would: Not very well. It shows with how she is giving him an arched eyebrow in reply. )

Prince of Saiyans? ( At this point anyone from her world and grew up with a childhood would have finally made the connection as to who Vegeta was. Probably had a 'Oh fuck me' moment that they were being snippy with Vegeta. Considering how Addie did not grow up with Dragon Ball GT, she only allows herself to soften up on her attitude. A little bit.

Because it explains a lot about his attitude. ) Ack! I had no idea you were of nobility. I must apologize then -- You must not be used to people not being respectful of you considering your station. I'll like to extend a formal apology for my actions that were made due to our interactions up until now.

Don't you worry, Addie. No one can accuse me of being gentle.

[He stood at the door to the dressing room, hand draped on the top of it to keep it open. His eyes were on her, but his attention was on the entrance of the shop, just to be absolutely certain they had privacy.]

[He usually doesn't make people address him by his title anymore but in this case he'll make an exception.] Yes, Vegeta, Prince of all Saiyans. And I expect to be addressed in the correct manner, while I think about that apology of yours.

[One day, someone will finally tell him he's a cartoon. One day. But today isn't that day.]

[Woohoo! Pascal lets out a cheer, followed by a quick round of applause for that catch. Nice one!]

And those were some pretty nice moves there too! Iiii think I'll skip on the drink throwing though, remember what I said about it being a total waste?

[And you wouldn't want to waste a drop of this stuff after the scavenger hunt they went through to make it!]

[And at this point he doesn't realize she's still following him! Or he doesn't for the immediate distance when he enters the item shop. But when she comes in after him - are you serious? He crosses his arms and looks in her general direction]

Something like that! It sounds like you have a lot of it figured out already.

( A flourished bow to go with her flushed cheeks at the cheer. It is always nice to have a receptive audience to your actions. )

If you say so. Perhaps we should a real game of catch next time, with a ball and all? ( That'll be a way to pass the time. ) And the drinks are almost done! May I have a minute or two to make sure they're just right before we delve into the deliciousness?

( She, you know, wants to make sure this won't have them immediately puking or running to the bathroom. You never know about spices found in a world where people have wings on their back. )

Excellent. I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun then.

( With that Adalinda enters the dressing room first, 'adjusting' her outfit already. In the process of it, her hand 'accidentally' touches his waist and gently drags across it as she tries to fix up. )

And don't you worry about any surprise visitors, my dear. I think we're all alone for a little while.

( Whoops! Looks like someone caught her. She stops in her tracks at a reasonable distance and bats her eyelashes innocently, tilting her head in an utterly confused manner on why he was stopping all of the sudden. )

Is something the matter, Monsieur Hellscream?

Thank you! My grand-mère always did say to think of things ahead when you have the time. A question now that I mentioned uniforms-- ( She gestures to what he's wearing, noting the outfit is something similar to what perhaps someone in her world might wear? For what specifically she isn't sure. ) I take it that clothes that look like that are not to be touched and instead I'll alert you if I find them?

( If only Adalinda had the honor or proper childhood she would have been more than happy to do so. For now she's more than 'happy' to give a small curtsy in thanks for his generous apology, seeing no problem hamming it up a bit. )

I do thank you for your concession, Prince Vegeta. It isn't every day I get to meet such gracious royalty and I do hope one day, in one chance or another, I have the honor to repay this charity of yours. If you ever think of a fitting manner I can express, feel free to say so. I'm always about wanting to help others.

[That's snarled, but his anger is in check. For the moment]

[Oh Addie, he can see brown-nosing from a mile away. He's not dumb.]

And I'll believe that as much as I believe that Namekian females exist. [Cuz she's totally going to get that reference dude. Totally.]

[Somehow, having the markings on his back confirmed gives the nerd a little more confidence.]

Going to go home. Have a cup of strong tea.

[Jack places his hands around either sides of her shoulders as his hands move around, looping his fingers around the hem of her collar. The question is, to tear or to pull off?]

Good to know. So answer me this. Any chance you would miss this dress?

Sure thing, take all the time you need! I bet if you take even longer on 'em they'll come out tasting even better and way more super choco-spicy.

[So long as they're drinking down these bad boys in the near future Pascal is fine with waiting. She can't wait to try what they've made! It's going to taste delicious and there's absolutely no way she'll be throwing up all over the floor or anything. No way at all.]

But y'know. for the catch thing? We could totally set somethin' up and play a game of catch in the battle dome just to make it more intense.

[Maybe she can program in a super bouncy ball that flies all over the place? Ooh, no, anti-gravity catch!]

( Huh. That sounds a lot like Albert would have told her if he was making something and she was being impatient. Longer it took, tastier it would be. Homesickness? What's that? Nothing she's experiencing now. Nope.

Seeing that the drinks are almost done, she thinks drinks are supposed to be this color if you mix these types of spices together, Addie thinks over the idea of catch in what's that again? The battle dome? She does want to see what is in there. )

We absolutely should, Pascal! It'll certainly be more fun to do that then to just run about outside and hope we do not run into anything. What do you think should be added as a challenge to make it more fun? ( Seeing that she probably knows more about that place than hers. Aaaand just in time for the drinks to be done. ) I think these are ready. A toast, perhaps, to our tentative friendship if you'll allow me to be so bold?

( Addie bats her eyes at him as she places her hands against his chest and gives him her prettiest, most devious smile. With a little bit of effort, she moves so she can have her lips against the shell of his ear to whisper in a low and hot manner: )

Hmmm. The riddle of the ages, no? ( One hand lazily tracing circles and patterns, spelling out dirty words on his chest while the other hand goes down south. ) I don't think I'll mind too much if what happens after proves worth it.

If you say so, my dear.

( She gives him a smile and the space he needs, giving a flourished and deep curtsy. ) I hope we see each other again, Jackie. I'll be keeping you on that promise you made.

[Pirates very rarely keep their promises. Not the way nerds do. Hopefully he won't be too disappointing when he's back at full piratical throttle.]

I'm not following you. I assure you of that fact, my dear monsieur. [She crosses her heart. Hopes not to die by an axe in her eye.

Careful to not bait him too much, she continues on with her explanation. Making it short and simple so there wasn't much to nitpick if he was trying to see if she's lying or not. This is her first day here. No need to get injured or maimed.] I'm simply going to my next stop. There was no reason for me to be in the store seeing what I wanted was not in it. I made sure of that when getting your important items.
