( Ever since Adalinda arrived here, she's mostly staying out of sight and keeping to herself -- keeping away from people. If anyone attempted to talk to her up to this point or noticed her hovering close to them while they spoke to someone, she'll feign needing to be somewhere else and get the hell out of there before she can be confronted.

Until she gets her bearings and knows she won't lose her cool at the sight of anything/anyone/whatever, she needs to be by herself and think over the events that lead up to this. Because seriously! Wings on her back? This fancy journal machine... thing that seems to be able to contact others after she carefully inspected it? This sure as hell isn't Germany.

She finally comes to the conclusion that this isn't some sort of elaborate scheme hatched out by the Woman or this is some sort of dying dream she's having. Good for her? Bad for her? Who knows. All she's certain of is that there's a lot of places to explore but sticks to the buildings and houses and you know. Signs of life in this place. Seeing how she's possibly the only member in the Doe gang to be here, she can't afford risking the possibility of getting in trouble until her friends arrived to get her. One way or another. )

I suppose I have to make the most out of this until James or Josie get me out of this mess. Hell, I'll take up Jacob's help if it means getting nagged by him. First things first...

( She gives a distasteful look at her new outfit. One thing she cannot abide is being stuck with the clothes she finds herself wearing and careful inspection of the place she woke up this morning reveals no signs of her original outfit.

So rain or not she'll be heading to the Clothing Shop to find something nicer to wear and then check out the Welcome Center after hearing about it here and there. For now she'll duck into buildings or go closer to houses in a subtle attempt to inspect them, scout them out. She's no Point Person but she reckons she can pick up a thing or two from what she may 'accidentally' see or 'overhear'.

That and the rain was annoying to deal with how it made her hair get so matted and tangled and she wanted as much shelter from the weather as possible until she got to her destinations. She has a feeling this place doesn't have her brand of hair products. Great. )

Is that so? ( Now this is something she finds vaguely familiar with. It was more of connections and experience with the gang than money and power but she can still see it. With enough of it and if you do it flashier enough, you can get away with anything in the world she lived in. Maybe even murder.

She stops looking at the clothes now and gives him her full attention, crossing her arms in amusement. ) How often did you, ah, test this belief out in Hollywood, Monsieur Horner? Or here? I'm surprised a man like you is not bored to tears when not busy with catering to the whims of whoever brought us to this place.

[As if to quell any doubt, thunder rumbles in the distance, and Saori's fingers are suddenly alive with lightning. Blue-white light crackles between her fingers and she nods. So tired of mortals questioning her word.]

We're in this together -- the least I can do is share the basics. Think it's about as close to a Welcome To Luceti 101 class you're gonna get. [He chuckles dryly.] When you're more settled in, I'd have a look through your journal at the guide towards the back. It'll bring you up to speed on what this place is all about, more or less.

[He ignores the clothes as well, since they seem to have arrived on a somewhat interesting talking point.]

Well let's see. [He thinks for a moment before tackling each of her points - living with Ikki all this time has trained him in this.] The posters are for the cultural fair next month. You can show off stuff from your culture and any other culture from your world! For fun, we do whatever we want! We can explore, play games, just hang out with friends, try out tricks and all kinds of cool things. There isn't a lot of need to maintain order since people don't cause trouble here a lot, but keeping each other updated on the journals helps. And sewing's definitely a good thing! Lots of people need holes cut into their clothes for wings, so you could always help at one of the clothing shops. [Especially since the big fashion person around, Shiki, had been sent home not too long ago.]

Iiit's kinda sorta complicated. It's like, the me who was here before was still me, but when they up and went back home and I came in I didn't know a thing about it! Some guys remember comin' to the village before and others don't.

[In her case she didn't remember a thing, but it's not like that bothered her. If anything it just meant she could make friends with all the old friends that the first Pascal made.

She swings her legs idly back and forth from her seat on the counter-top, watching Addie digging around in the cupboards. Something warm and sweet sounds a lot better than something just warm right now, so Pascal has no complaints in the change of plans.]

But yeah, hot chocolate sounds good to me! There's nothing better for the ol' noggin than the sweet kick of hot chocolate.

( That is an impressive display and Adalinda is momentarily distracted by the display of magic, her first display of real magic!, to respond quickly. She finally responds after she stops gaping like a fish. )

I suppose that's true for some people, of course! But definitely not me. ( Stick to her usual story? Stick to her usual story. ) I'm an only child. My mother was a seamstress. We didn't have a lot of money so I often stayed with my grand-mère who was the one who taught me how to make simple dresses and blouses at the age of twelve. I suppose I can say she is why I wish to be the next Rose Bertin.

There's a guide in the journal about everything of here? That is both handy and... How do you say it? Prepared.

( Definitely not getting creeped out vibes. Oh no. If she is, she is wisely ignoring them to keep her cool. She'll like to look at it now but decides not to, believing that she can remember this important fact for later. )

I've always wanted to meet a man of adventure and daring. It sounds like you fit the criteria perfectly with how this conversation is going. ( And, to be fair, she's no better when it comes to her occupation. Cast not the first stone unless you want an ugly black eye. )

A true bleeding heart hiding their misery from the world with a toothpaste smile. ( Oddly enough she manages to make it sound sincere and sympathetic and not too sarcastic. )

Ah, my dear! One of your talents and charm should never worry about the budget. Isn't always the presentation, the intensity that matters at the end? The execution and flair.

I also drink rum. In...quantities what could be described as copious.

I happen to drink a lot of champagne and wine myself. I've never tried rum before but should you ever need a drinking buddy, you know where I am. And you know I'm available at anytime.

[There was always SOMEONE to drink with at Good Spirits, but it wasn't an unwelcome invitation. Jack had a strange feeling that, after this Shift was over, he was going to need lots and lots of Rum.

For now, he couldn't stomach the stuff. The nerd-constitution had no tolerance for alcohol.]

I'm skeptical about the anytime bit, but...aye. We'll see, I suppose.

( Cultural fair? That is something she'll go to for sure. With the varied sights and people and beings she saw during her observation before, she was curious as to what they were, where they came from and more. This fair would be an excellent excuse to learn more about them and not look suspicious in asking questions. Bless community spirit. )

I guess with how people and others have been here for so long, I shouldn't be too surprised that natural order and entertainment has sprung up. ( At least she can trust this group to work together in a crisis. That's a relief to know. ) Hmmm. Is that all? I believe I can do something simple as cutting holes open and adjusting clothing. I can start on it tomorrow too if that is possible.

( That must be a headache for the people who get left behind and see a familiar face back with them. Wondering if they'll remember them, their bond and their trails, or not. She can sympathize with anyone who has ever been through that. )

Hot chocolate it is! I'll try to get it ready soon. Would you like me to add anything to yours if it is available here in the kitchen or prefer it as the original version? I've tried hot chocolate with maple syrup one time and cinnamon and chili pepper another time. Both were delicious, I must say.

( She definitely knows her sweets more than her 'health' food/drinks.

In her quest to find the correct mugs to use to pour the beverage in, she finds something that might actually be teabags. Casually ignoring her potential discovery, she closes the cupboards like that never happened and continues her search until -- Aha! Triumphant, she takes the mugs and carefully sets them down on the counter before continuing her search. Eventually she might find it, careful to not jostle any cups or plates in her search for the other items. )

Why do you doubt me on this? ( She crosses her arms and looks away, giving a convincing hurt look at his words. )

Are you suggesting that I cannot hold my liquor? That is a great offense to not only myself but my beloved grand-mère'! She never needed glasses when it came to the spirits. Always drank straight from the bottle and I like to think I inherited a bit of that strength from her.

Who's Rose Bertin?

[The rest of that all made sense, and was probably an oversimplification but...that stood out.]

[Sigh. Now he'd offended her. Why was it that nerds could never quite get the bearings of a female creature? They always distressed them or drove them to drink straight from bottles.]

FINE. Fine. I do not doubt you, darling -- I'd never suggest such a thing as that. Straight from the bottle! No doubts! I'm merely stating the fact of the matter, which is that in this Shifted self, I can barely stand a drop of the stuff.

[Perhaps more obvious than he was expecting, but the fact it is so obvious makes Garrosh Hellscream turn on his heel and draw the axe up into his hand all in one movement. He snarls and goes to break the distance between him and the downed shelf - and the woman there.]

Yeah. Written by one of us a few years back, so you have them to thank for taking the time to compile all this.

[Ah, if he were a shameless lech, he'd have jokingly suggested a very simple sort of payment for what help he has offered. But he has a number of reasons to do otherwise.]

Already taken care of. [He makes a point of holds up lifting the t-shirts he has bunched in his metal fist. The thought is appreciated, however.]

[She just...cannot be serious. He's all for advocating people to train, but he just doesn't see her as a fighter and there's no impending danger at all in this village.
