01 CON ● ACTION ● SIX OF DIAMONDS
( Ever since Adalinda arrived here, she's mostly staying out of sight and keeping to herself -- keeping away from people. If anyone attempted to talk to her up to this point or noticed her hovering close to them while they spoke to someone, she'll feign needing to be somewhere else and get the hell out of there before she can be confronted.
Until she gets her bearings and knows she won't lose her cool at the sight of anything/anyone/whatever, she needs to be by herself and think over the events that lead up to this. Because seriously! Wings on her back? This fancy journal machine... thing that seems to be able to contact others after she carefully inspected it? This sure as hell isn't Germany.
She finally comes to the conclusion that this isn't some sort of elaborate scheme hatched out by the Woman or this is some sort of dying dream she's having. Good for her? Bad for her? Who knows. All she's certain of is that there's a lot of places to explore but sticks to the buildings and houses and you know. Signs of life in this place. Seeing how she's possibly the only member in the Doe gang to be here, she can't afford risking the possibility of getting in trouble until her friends arrived to get her. One way or another. )
I suppose I have to make the most out of this until James or Josie get me out of this mess. Hell, I'll take up Jacob's help if it means getting nagged by him. First things first...
( She gives a distasteful look at her new outfit. One thing she cannot abide is being stuck with the clothes she finds herself wearing and careful inspection of the place she woke up this morning reveals no signs of her original outfit.
So rain or not she'll be heading to the Clothing Shop to find something nicer to wear and then check out the Welcome Center after hearing about it here and there. For now she'll duck into buildings or go closer to houses in a subtle attempt to inspect them, scout them out. She's no Point Person but she reckons she can pick up a thing or two from what she may 'accidentally' see or 'overhear'.
That and the rain was annoying to deal with how it made her hair get so matted and tangled and she wanted as much shelter from the weather as possible until she got to her destinations. She has a feeling this place doesn't have her brand of hair products. Great. )

Not wanting to drag this unusually lively conversation down with inquiring more about it, she focuses on the positive, looking and sounding sincere when she gives her answer. )
Of course. Why wouldn't I? You haven't given me a reason yet on why I shouldn't meet the real you.
[action]
[action]
I've always wanted to meet a man of adventure and daring. It sounds like you fit the criteria perfectly with how this conversation is going. ( And, to be fair, she's no better when it comes to her occupation. Cast not the first stone unless you want an ugly black eye. )

For now, he couldn't stomach the stuff. The nerd-constitution had no tolerance for alcohol.]
I'm skeptical about the anytime bit, but...aye. We'll see, I suppose.
[action]
Are you suggesting that I cannot hold my liquor? That is a great offense to not only myself but my beloved grand-mère'! She never needed glasses when it came to the spirits. Always drank straight from the bottle and I like to think I inherited a bit of that strength from her.
[action]
FINE. Fine. I do not doubt you, darling -- I'd never suggest such a thing as that. Straight from the bottle! No doubts! I'm merely stating the fact of the matter, which is that in this Shifted self, I can barely stand a drop of the stuff.
[action]
So how about we make a promise with each other? When you are in your normal state, we'll have a drink to celebrate your return to your old self. Until then, would you just like to have tea or non-alcoholic drinks with me?
[action]
[action]
We can go with that if you want and if you'll allow it.
[action]
He turns red, and then pale, and then red again. A terrible feeling begins brewing in the depths of his belly.
And then he turns and begins to run away.]
Sorry! Sorry! I'm going to vomit! I'm going to vomit all over your pretty feet!
[action]
( .... Alright.
That was a reaction she hasn't gotten before. Points to him for having a unique reaction to her. Now Should she follow him to make sure he doesn't trip all over himself or leave him be?
After a few moments of careful deliberation, she decides to make sure he's alright for the moment while getting an answer out of him about this 'date' of theirs. Its never nice to leave a lady hanging. )
C’est vraiment des conneries... Excuse me! Excuse me! Are you okay now? Jackie?
[action]
[Short answer: No. Jack IS going to stop running and practice taking some deep, slow breaths, though.]
[action]
( When she gets close enough to him, she tries to be a comforting figure while he takes his breath. Unsure if she should touch him or not, she keeps her hands to herself as to not cause a further mess. )
If you need to heave. Go ahead. Please! You look horrid. ( She's making sure there's no chances of there being. Backsplash being possible on her. No thanks. )
[action]
Sorry, sorry sorry sorry sorry. Not at all well at the moment, sorry! Not myself.
[action]
She reaches out to grab his hand, gentle but quick before he can slip off. )
I know you are sorry but do not be. It is like how you said, my dear. You're not yourself. You should not be ashamed for something out of your control. ( The loathing of being helpless and making a fool of one's self is something she can connect to. A lot. ) I would like to apologize for my behavior a few moments ago. That was simply an unneeded exaggeration for the situation.
[action]
This is what they did to me last time. My morale's never been more buggered.
[action]
Oh mon Dieu. C'est affreux. Comment peut-on faire cela à un autre? Même John Doe pourrait être dégoûté par cette mesure. ( Ugh. Bad habit of hers. She touches his back lightly, looking at the words carefully like they would simply disappear in front of her. ) I'm so sorry this happened to you, my dear.
[action]
'Salright. I'd best head along, I suppose.
[action]
( After he assures her that she's alright and she's certain of that herself, she takes a step back and crosses her arm. She's not hugging herself. It's pretty cold out here and she's stuck in this ridiculous outfit. ) Would you like me to accompany you? In moments like these, I always found pleasant company a way to help me.
[action]
[Somehow, having the markings on his back confirmed gives the nerd a little more confidence.]
Going to go home. Have a cup of strong tea.
[action]
( She gives him a smile and the space he needs, giving a flourished and deep curtsy. ) I hope we see each other again, Jackie. I'll be keeping you on that promise you made.
